Albuquerque is known as the Hot Air Balloon Capital of the World. It is home to a huge hot air balloon festival held every October, where thousands of people from around the world come to see hundreds of beautiful balloons fill the skies. The clear, calm weather allows for hot air balloon rides year round. There's even a hot air balloon museum, where you can learn more about this beautiful hobby.

Route 66

This historic highway still makes its way through town as Central Avenue. Visitors and locals alike enjoy sights like Historic Knob Hill and the Kimo Theatre. The route still offers many of the old neon signs. Stop for a bite to eat at a retro diner to feel like you've gone back in time.

Outdoor Recreation

Albuquerque's incredible weather and location allow for outdoor activities year-round. Go hiking in the high desert or horseback riding in the foothills. If you like cycling, take a spin on the mountain biking trails. If golf is more your speed, the city offers some of the best public courses in the country.
